Animals For Kids is a learning software application for toddlers and young kids. This game will show you a list of animals, and when left clicking on any of them you will see a card with the picture of the animal, and a box where you can click again and listen to the name and the sound of the animal. It helps little children to learn the names of the animals and their sounds, while they start learning how to use the computer at the same time.
This game has two modes. In the first one, you can pass the cards by click on the name of the animal, and here you may choose the speed of the transition. It gives the kid time to think and relate the animal with the sound. In the second mode, the cards change automatically every five seconds. The program’s voice will say what animal it is being shown, and then the sound will be played.
This game can be also used at kindergarten level, because it is really easy to use and very colourful, so kids will love it. It also has three other very useful links. One takes you to Google images, the second one to Wikipedia’s entry about the animal shown, and the third will take you into the relevant Google web page. Thus, if for example you are looking at the alligator and click on Google images, your browser will show you Google images of alligators, and a similar action will take place with the other two links. That is a very easy and fast way of finding information, so not-so-young kids will also benefit from this game.
